Heihachi Edajima is the headmaster of Otokojuku and a former Navy Rear Admiral. As a child prodigy, he entered Tokyo University at a very young age with only a week’s study. Any inquiry in regard to many of eccentric Otokojyuku rule or his decision is answered by this one liner : “I AM THE PRINCIPAL OF OTOKOJUKU, EDAJIMA HEIHACHI!!!” (わしが男塾塾長江田島平八である！！ Washi ga Otokojuku Jukuchō Edajima Heihachi de aru!!)
Former president of the Republic of China, Lee Teng-hui became the first former president of a country known to participate in cosplay. In his retirement Lee once dressed up as Heihachi Edajima to promote his website. His cosplay interest was mentioned on his personal website, beginning in late 2004.
