This is some amazing clock ;] I wonder how this display is called.
It’s a Nixie Clock made of Nixie Tubes (or Trochotron, Dekatron, Digitron, Inditron, Numicator). The early Nixie displays were made by Burroughs Corporation.
The name “Nixie” was derived by William Seward Burroughs from “NIX I”, an abbreviation of “Numeric Indicator eXperimental No. 1. He was the grandfather of William S. Burroughs, leading figure of the Beat Generation with Jack Kerouac and Allan Ginsberg.
Thanks, those Nixie Tubes are not even really that hard to get. I even found a little Polish company Chronix that still makes alarm clocks with those tubes.
