Think Local, Revitalize Global

A growing number of animation companies, many of which have been concentrated in Tokyo, are organizing anime events in remote locations, or shifting operations entirely to rural parts of Japan. Watchers have noted the trend could lead to the dissemination of a new anime culture that is not bound to the capital.

Noting that Tokushima had “little chance of beating Tokyo if it engaged in the same tactics,” Kondo decided to scatter the event at venues across the city, including the nearby Mount Bizan.

Think Globally, Damage Locally

Think globally, act locally refers to the concept that, to succeed in the modern marketplace, companies must expand beyond national borders yet act responsibly by considering the wants and needs of the countries into which they move. The phrase “think globally, act locally” was first used in 1972 by René Dubois,a dvisor to the United Nations Conference on the Human Environnment, who called for ” a rich systeme of communication to achieve this sustainable interactivity”. Today’s consumers tend to refuse generic goods, opting for products that fulfil their specific requirements. Companies must think about global products designed for local needs, and two-way communication plays an important role at both ends of the equation?
