Tora-san Park In Vienna

A 3,000-sq.-meter park in the Floridsdorf district of Vienna will be named after Tora-san… to mark 140 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Austria.

The Tora-san Park will feature a traditional Japanese garden designed by Japanese artists Fumiyo and Masahiro Moriguchi to symbolize bilateral friendship.

The friendship deal resulted in the shooting of a Tora-san film in Vienna…In 1989, the film crew came to Vienna and shot Tora-san’s 41st adventure, “Torajiro Kokoro no Tabiji” (“Tora-san goes to Vienna”), starring Atsumi and actress Keiko Takeshita.
