Aphelandra from Amazon Lily Island
Aphelandra (アフェランドラ) is a member of a tribe of Kuja living on the island of Amazon Lily. She is large-sized human who accompanied Marguerite and Sweet Pea. Correspondingly, the flower that shares her name is hailed as one of the tallest known flowers in the world.
Amazon Lily (アマゾン・リリー) is an island inhabited by a tribe of Kuja. The island is named after the real life flower Amazon Lily. It is also a reference the the Amazons of Greek myth, which the island’s culture is heavily based on.
An Amazonomachy (Ἀμαζονομαχίαι) or Amazonomachies (Αμαζονομαχίες) was a portrayal of legendary battle between Greeks and Amazons. The mythic all-female warrior society succumbed to the likes of Heracles and Theseus, and symbolised the triumph of Greek civilization over the barbarian.
