Metropolitan Police Department is in charge of Lupin
An international crime cartel dubbed the Pink Panthers is believed to have contacts in Japan that assisted the members involved in a 2007 robbery at a Tokyo jewelry shop by hiding them and then helping them flee the country, police have said.
An MPD official who has been investigating the Ginza robberies said: “It’s just like [anime thief Arsene] Lupin
[III] in terms of speed [of the crime operations].”
These facts indicate the women helped the gang members to evade capture and escape, the MPD said.
