Fan: Why did Nia died when the Anti-Spiral was defeated?

Nakajima: The “Anti-Spiral” avatar drilled by Simon was a physical representation of their hive-mind, Nia was a genetic probability created by the Anti-Spiral to awaken when their reached a peak in their civilization and in episode 17 she became part of the this hive-mind despite retaining her own individual shape. Due her strong will she regained her consciousness and managed to keep her body as a beacon guiding the Gurren-Dan towards the Anti-Spiral kingdom, but her existence was still linked to that of the hive-mind.
